varietyisthespice:The good news first, ice baths DO speed up the rate of recovery after a long run, race, etc. by what feels like a good 90%.  Before I started taking them, I would be limping around for a few days and had the dreaded side-shuffle down the stairs.  Last fall I ran the 60K (37.2 miles) on a Saturday, got home, took an ice bath, got up at 2AM the next day to board a 3AM bus to Philly and was able to cheer my friend on during his marathon.Tips for an ice bath:Wear clothes!  I have on a bathing suit, polar fleece Patagonia pull-over, and scarf.  (Hair wrapped in a towel with conditioning treatment - hey you
